Speakers: Zacharias Rochas , actor and director Annita Patsouraki , art historian Excerpts from the book will be read by the actresses: Daisy Sebekopoulou and Sara Terzi. The event will be coordinated by the author, Gogo Atzoletaki . A Few Words About the Book “The Third Spring” Alexandra, living in isolation and loneliness, counts her years — and surely, they are many. She now finds herself in the “grey zone” of her life… But she is neither as old nor as sick as others believe. And those “others” are none other than her children — her son and especially her daughter-in-law — who no longer want the grandmother around in their luxurious home, a home Alexandra herself helped them acquire. So how can they get rid of the “old lady”? Where could they send her? The nursing home is always a convenient solution! Unable to resist, Alexandra submits to her fate, resigned to ending her days there — abandoned and forgotten. Yet life, always unpredictable, brings a great reversal. There, in the nursing home, new horizons open up before her… Her roommate, Nora, a painter, finds in Alexandra’s face — or rather, in her body — the ideal model for a new series of paintings. This chance encounter becomes the spark for a new beginning, for unprecedented and hopeful horizons. Never say “never”! A remarkable novel with an unexpected plot. An ode to the “third age” of a woman’s life — one that may yet become her… third spring! The Art Exhibition A group art exhibition of the same title, inspired by excerpts from the book, featuring works of painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and decorative constructions, accompanies the event at Andie Art Gallery. The exhibition’s curator, Annita Patsouraki, writes: “Reading ‘The Third Spring’ conjured vivid images that led me on a passionate search for artworks that would realistically or metaphorically align with the story. This exhibition, diverse in artistic technique, is a tribute to that stage of life marked by rich experience, deep wisdom, and the invaluable contribution of our elders. Selected excerpts from the book were chosen for visual interpretation — to convey meanings, emotions, and memories, while drawing the viewer into the unfolding scene as participant, accomplice, or observer. Expressive faces marked by wrinkles of joy and struggle, eyes full of warmth and priceless experience — recognizable figures that extend, intensify, and embody the descriptive narrative. Portraits depict beloved, familiar faces of the artists’ own circles, as well as internationally recognized figures who, even in midlife, fought for their dreams, dared to break social and personal barriers, and defined their own future — proving that age need not be an obstacle. These images awaken memories and inspire us to savor every moment of everyday life. Age is just a number. It’s up to us how we live it — and let’s not forget the wise old saying: ‘Where you once were, I am now — and where I am, you shall come…!’” The biography of Gogo Atzoletaki Gogo Atzoletaki hails from Sitia, Crete. She studied theater at the Drama School of Giorgos Theodosiadis, and throughout her extensive career, she has had a fruitful theatrical journey, sometimes as a theater company owner and other times in collaboration with various producers, covering a broad range of repertoire. At the same time, she has had a successful career in television, radio, and film. She has written and translated theatrical works that have been staged, and as a columnist, she has contributed to newspapers, literary magazines, and online media outlets. In December 2009, she was awarded by the International Family Support Society for her contribution to the serious issue of female and child abuse, through her novels “Your Friend, Rosalía” and “The Z of Life.” She is a member of the Society of Greek Playwrights. - ELEFTHERIA SIFNAIOU | Andie Art
Who is Eleftheria Sifnaiou? Here we discover the artist. ELEFTHERIA SIFNAIOU She was born in Athens. From a young age, she showed a restless and playful creative spirit — constantly reshaping her surroundings, creating collages on her walls and rearranging her furniture as a form of personal expression. After finishing school, she moved to Italy to study fashion design. She lived in Milan for four years, starting her career in the fashion market as a model. Upon returning to Greece, she continued working as a model in both local and European projects, while pursuing studies in Marketing & Management and Interior Decoration, further enriching her understanding of aesthetics and visual composition. Her involvement with event styling began almost by chance, when she designed her child’s baptism — a project that sparked her passion for creating handmade compositions and poetic atmospheres. Later, she designed decorative details and crafted delicate textile pieces for baptisms, blending sewing with painting, collage, air-dry clay and other materials. This early exploration of mixed techniques and tactile harmony naturally evolved into her current ceramic practice, where craftsmanship meets emotion. Her journey with ceramics began in 2017, when she attended seminars on coil technique in the workshop of Greek artist Michalis Sklavainas. In 2023, she studied pottery technology under Menandros Papadopoulos. Since then, clay has become her main medium of expression — she is mostly self-taught and continues to explore the creative and expressive possibilities of ceramics in her own studio in Athens. Her work combines organic forms with hand-painted, symbolic and abstract motifs, resulting in one-of-a-kind contemporary ceramic pieces that balance artistic spontaneity with refined minimalism. She has participated in exhibitions in Greece and across Europe, including: 21° Contemporary Day, AMA | Associazione Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani, Florence (2025) International Art Exhibition, Gallery C6, Barcelona (2025) Venice International Art Fair, Venice (2024) Rossocinabro Gallery, Rome (2023) International Art Exhibition at Medina Art Gallery, Rome (2023) Panhellenic Exhibition of Potters and Sculptors, Athens (2022) Eleftheria continues to develop her artistic language, merging fine art, design, and craftsmanship to create timeless ceramic works that elevate contemporary spaces. MEDIA SPONSOR: We are delighted to inaugurate on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 7:00 p.m ., the Easter festive group exhibition “To the Sound of the Bell” featuring painting, sculpture, photography, mosaic, jewelry, and decorative arts. Exhibition Curator: Annita Patsouraki – Art Historian The art exhibition “To the Sound of the Bell” is a depiction of religious architecture, while at the same time a study of the Greek soul. Small chapels, roadside shrines, humble whitewashed churches with blue domes, solitary and remote, stand resilient against time. Scattered throughout the Greek countryside, they are a living repository of our cultural wealth and heritage. Built from stone, earth, and water, coated in lime, without ornamentation or elaborate icon screens, they await the passerby—the weary, the sorrowful, the desperate, the persecuted, the lonely—anyone seeking comfort, strength, protection, and hope, or simply offering a prayer of gratitude. These small churches represent the meeting point of heaven and earth in an eternal, silent prayer. They offer consolation, companionship through the flickering oil lamp as a symbol of hope, and the gentle glow of candles embracing the soul. They embody devotion, humility, and patience in the face of time’s decay, their worn walls breathing alongside nature. Their simplicity bows before the divine essence. They carry the sweet melancholy of Holy Week, transformed into light in anticipation of the Resurrection. The sound of their bells—devotional, gentle, sorrowful, peaceful, soothing, compassionate, moving, awakening, and joyful—offers a privileged connection to God. Their symbolic presence conveys divine reflection. Their sound brings joy to the heart, serenity to the soul, and awakens religious faith. The exhibition “To the Sound of the Bell” is technically multifaceted. Works of painting, sculpture, mosaic, photography, jewelry, and decorative objects are inspired by a shared theme and Easter symbolism. These creations, rich in expressive immediacy, convey lived experience, activate personal memory, and present balanced compositions with clarity of design, descriptive skill, and nostalgic sensitivity. Naturalistic elements prevail, without embellishment, highlighting traditional religious architecture alongside elements of folk art and tradition. Through expressive power, truth is sought along a luminous and hopeful path. The modest and humble image conveys its intrinsic strength. Universal concerns, meanings, and questions become accessible, offering emotional warmth and shelter. The 31 participating artists, each with unique experiences and diverse techniques, come together under a shared theme, expressing a collective spirit and conveying a significant legacy of values and common visions. They approach the subject with sensitivity, emotion, and respect. Their compositions arise from inner intensity and radiate calm endurance, light, hope, generosity, and refined feeling. The sacred space, symbolically charged with harmony and balance, embraces human emotions and the coordinates of the soul. A sense of devotion prevails; inner reflection deepens; emotion becomes profound and spontaneous, leading to contemplation and self-awareness. The dazzling white and endless blue of the sky reach a sublime state, embodying ultimate harmony and bliss. Time, intangible and eternal, is imprinted upon the materiality of nature and humanity. An Easter journey through small chapels, where humble light shines—celebrated by poets and scholars: “THE LITTLE CHURCH” “High upon the mountain there stands a lonely chapel, its bell does not ring, it has no chanter nor priest. A dim oil lamp and a stone cross are its only humble adornments. Yet the passerby, as he goes by, pauses and reverently bows, kissing the white cross with devotion. Upon that cross lies a sacred image, written in blood by God Himself, and worshipped by the people.” Aggelos Vlachos (1838–1920), writer, diplomat, politician The exhibition “To the Sound of the Bell” is an invitation to a journey of personal “Resurrection,” as each person experiences, awaits, and envisions it.
