- THE AGE OF GAMILIONA | Andie Art
JANUARY 19 - FEBRUARY 7, 2026 THE AGE OF GAMILIONA SCULPTURE & CLOTHING EXHIBITION PARTICIPATING ARTISTS: SCULPTURE: MITSOU EVANGELOS CLOTHING: LINEΠLANET PATSOULAKI IOANNA | VETTA FANI On Monday, January 19, 2026 , at 7:00 p.m. , the art exhibition entitled “The Age of Gamiliona ” will open at Andie Art Gallery, Farantaton 17, Athens Tower. “The Age of Gamiliona” is a highly original and engaging visual arts exhibition of sculpture and fashion, inspired by ancient Greece and the month of marriage. The exhibition curator, Annita Patsouraki – Art Historian, states: “In ancient Greece there existed a calendar based on religious celebrations. Each city-state used its own calendar, with different names for the months. In the Attic Calendar, the seventh month (mid-January to mid-February) was called Gamelion. It was dedicated to the gods Zeus and Hera and took its name from the festival ‘Gamelia’ or ‘Gamela’, during which the Sacred Marriage of the two gods was honored. Hence, the festival was also known as Theogamia. Hera was the protector of marriage. Three additional deities associated with the successful outcome of marriage were also honored: Aphrodite, Artemis, and Peitho. Marriage in ancient Greece was one of the most important institutions, signifying social recognition and respect toward the Olympian gods. The wedding ceremony took place at the bride’s home. The bridal garment was usually a simple white chiton, a color symbolizing joy. At the back of the garment there was a very tight knot, which the groom untied during the ceremony. The groom, dressed in white and wearing a wreath on his head, took the bride by the hand, thus sealing the marriage. The homes of both bride and groom were decorated with wreaths made of laurel and olive leaves. Guests drank wine and ate meat, as well as a sweet made of flour, honey, and sesame, symbolizing abundance and fertility, along with bread, walnuts, and dried figs. Wedding wishes focused on prosperity, fertility, and the happiness of the couple: ‘Έρρωσθε και Ευδαιμονείτε — May you be healthy and happy.” Participating Artists Evaggelos Mitsou – Sculpture Ioanna Patsoulaki & Fani Vetta – Fashion design, under the label Lineπlanet Sculptor Evangelos Mitsou works exclusively with iron, creating schematic yet realistic figures, wall-mounted compositions, and symbolic representations. - RETROSPECTIVA - CURATOR'S NOTE | Andie Art
The curator describes the theme of Retrospectiva exhibition. Christos Georgoudakis - “Retrospectiva” Engraving - Sculpture 1987 - 2024 The exhibition presents selections of Georgoudakis’ works - many of which are coming out of his studio for the first time - from all periods of his rich creative career of almost 40 years. Georgoudakis, been recognized both for his educational contribution and his artistic work, offers us the opportunity to explore his development and contribution in the field of engraving and sculpture, which he mainly serves. The exhibition is structured in 4 thematic sections, dominated by his black and white engraved portraits on linoleum. These are portraits of the most important personalities of our culture , iconic Greek figures of the 20th and 21st centuries, with international impact. Great Writers and Artists, emblematic performers and legends of Rebetiko, are immortalized in each print, with its own unique idiom. The artist engraves the most special features of these figures who are often presented as ascetic figures, almost hierographically rendered, in a symbolic background, where the straight line follows the curve, the white color changes to black and light disappears in shadow, while often, the appearance of a color or object in the background adds both to the aesthetics - creating intensity, contrast or depth - and the semiotics of his design - it evokes feelings and memories. His gestures become a window into the inner psyche of these personalities, as well as his own, inviting the viewer to become the correspondent of the ideas they express. At the same time, the exhibition exhibits steel sculptures from his "Gordian Knot" and "Human Figures" series. In his sculptural work, Georgoudakis treats a difficult and "untamable" material, hard and solid, such as steel, which he forges to create simple steel silhouettes and tightly tied knots. The steel with his curved shapes and smooth forms combined with the solid nature, demonstrate the artist's mastery, if not the imposition, of his material. Finally a section of works of conceptual character and clear social commentary , such as his sculpture "Bleeding" or the engraving “Abduction”, function as a kind of timeless mirror reflecting social reality. Georgoudakis utilizes the possibilities of engraving and sculpture as a means of constant struggle, challenge and evolution. As the character of both forms of expression often requires special dexterity and high technical knowledge, they become in his hands a multifaceted visual tool, with which he masterfully transforms handicraft into a Spiritual act, technique into Art. His work cultivates a sense of immediacy and proximity, inviting the viewer to appropriate his works and live with them, as he does every day, in the sanctuary of his studio. - ATHINA KILIFI: TRANSMUTATION OF CONCEPTS | Andie Art
JUNE 30 - JULY 11, 2026 TRANSMUTATION OF CONCEPTS SOLO EXHIBITION ARTIST: KILIFI ATHINA On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. , we are pleased to inaugurate the solo exhibition of Athina Kilifi entitled "Transmutation of Concepts" The Curator of the Exhibition, Annita Patsouraki – Art Historian , states: "Athina Kilifi is a painter and fashion designer. Having grown up in America, studied in Italy, and frequently visited Greece, she has accumulated knowledge, experiences, and inspiration from diverse cultural environments. Dynamic, impulsive, and imaginative, with profound existential concerns, she channels her creative expression into complex images of spiritual exaltation and inner dialogue. ‘The Transmutation of Concepts’ is her first solo exhibition. The paintings, independent in subject matter, move and swirl around timeless questions concerning the human journey and evolution, as well as the influences and transformations that shape it. The concept of existence, the miracle of birth, and the search for being itself are subconscious reflections and questions that she approaches through a variety of formal means, often employing allegorical undertones. Organic and inorganic visual forms narrate stories through evident influences of Abstract Expressionism combined with a distinctive descriptive skill. Through a synthesis of visual expression and perceptive thought, she renders her subjects abstractly—simplifying, analyzing, and simultaneously deepening their essence. By seeking fundamental visual elements, she succeeds in expressing her aesthetic vision, transmuting familiar external manifestations of matter and living beings. The canvas is transformed into a field of activity where the presentation of objects is cast aside. Geometric forms eloquently depict surreal references through selective abstraction and balanced formulations. Representation of form is limited, suggestive, or entirely rejected. Within the language of Conceptual Art and Expressionist Abstraction, the radical transformation of an object’s substance, the presence of nature, and the change of essence that turns it into something different signify its transmutation, its evolution into a new state. This modification may be identified with beautification and spiritual elevation. The explanatory titles accompanying each composition—such as Genesis, Evolution, and Mati Charm (Evil Eye Beads)—guide the viewer’s thoughts and make them an accomplice, a collaborator in the artist’s intellectual process. Emotion emerges spontaneously and dominates the composition. It captures attention, surprises the viewer, and creates a unique sense of wonder. Driven by powerful inner impulses of feeling, the artist develops an aesthetic and theoretical dialogue of communication with the audience. Compositions of bold color mixtures and tonal variations are lavishly distributed across the pictorial surface. The accidental forms that selectively emerge are shaped and defined by the artist with the meaning of existence and the impression of every living being. Through color, all aspects and energies of life are gathered and symbolized—an experiential invocation of existence and creation. Through inner introspection and spiritual inquiry, with an emphasis on spontaneous and subconscious expression, Athina Kilifi seeks to understand herself, to search for the meaning of life, and to delve into the essence of matter. She possesses an understanding and intuition of concepts, as well as a lived experience of emotions arising from transformation, transmutation, and metamorphosis—processes that take place yet are not directly depicted on the painted surface. By entering the deepest recesses of her subconscious, she paradoxically succeeds in becoming the spokesperson for an entirely optimistic view of life, as masterfully described by Aristotle: ‘In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.’” BIOGRAPHY Athina Kilifi Athina Kilifi was born in Athens, Greece. During her infancy, she relocated to Miami, USA. She is engaged in painting and fashion design and is currently studying at Istituto Marangoni Milano, Italy. Her works have been exhibited at the Tritsis Hall in Athens under the auspices of ENPAN, at the World Philosophical Forum in 2023 and 2024, at the Hellenic-French Association of Athens, as well as in group exhibitions abroad. “Transmutation of Concepts”, presented at Andie Art Gallery in July 2026, is her first solo exhibition. Through her paintings, she expresses her creative vision, impulses, powerful subconscious, and imagination. Her works navigate a labyrinth of narrative allegory, highlighting both organic and inorganic forms, while moving from contemplation and inner dialogue toward rejuvenation and spiritual upliftment. She assimilates elements of Abstract Expressionism and experiments with bold chromatic combinations that promise a remarkable and distinctive artistic journey. She lives and works between Greece and Italy.

Knowledge of history, along with the spiritual treasure of art and culture, encompasses all the beautiful ideals of the world that shape its continuity into the future. The Chinese New Year , also known as the ‘Spring Festival ,’ is the most important traditional national celebration in China. It is a movable feast, as it follows the Chinese lunar calendar, taking place on the day of the second new moon after the winter solstice. It usually falls between January and February, and each year is named after an animal within a sixty-year cycle. The celebration is connected with ancient legends and myths and originally marked the beginning of the new spring season, the cultivation of the land, and the productive harvest. Over the centuries, it evolved and was enriched with philosophical and religious influences from Confucian teachings and Buddhism, embracing beliefs associated with attracting good fortune, renewal, harmony, unity, and hope. The festival is officially celebrated for fifteen days and has gained global recognition as a cultural event of outstanding heritage and timeless value. Throughout the country, decorations in the symbolic red color prevail, spectacular fireworks illuminate the skies, and rituals featuring mythical figures dominate the celebrations. Food preparation follows specific traditions and symbolic combinations intended to attract prosperity, longevity, and abundance (steamed buns, fish, vegetable rolls, pork). Family reunification is of paramount importance, accompanied by authentic customs deeply rooted in respect, blending ancient traditions with contemporary lifestyles. During the festive period, the country comes to a near-complete halt in professional activities, with a global impact on exports across all sectors. Today, the celebration is firmly established throughout Asia and has achieved worldwide resonance, with numerous events dedicated to the understanding of Chinese culture. For 2026, the Chinese New Year lasts from Tuesday, February 17, to Saturday, March 7, marking the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of powerful energy, transformation, success, and good fortune. The arts contribute to the defense of the fundamental values of human life. Creators of the spirit, through imagination and aesthetic vision, perpetuate the humanistic ideal. They draw inspiration from the past while giving form to the active present. Humanity and nature move together in creation, guided by the timeless universal questions of existence. Across the philosophical records of all civilizations, we find shared perceptions of human existence. In the pursuit of harmony and balance between soul and body, human happiness and well-being are sought. The Eurasian perspective is shaped by a sincere dialogue of timeless messages. It supports history, traditions, and moral values, safeguarding its cultural wealth. The visual coexistence of painters Ioanna Lin and Demosthenes Davvetas raises ancient yet perpetually relevant questions through contemporary expression. A creative dialogue unfolds, with shared perspectives as well as diverse expressions and artistic media, forming an engaging encounter. Ioanna Lin fully embodies the traditional culture and art of her homeland. She welcomes the “Spring Festival” inspired by nature, birds, and flowers, while her calligraphies convey auspicious wishes for the New Year. An airy dance of refined color harmonies, light forms, and meticulously crafted design reveals the elegance and discipline of her traditional knowledge. Demosthenes Davvetas, combining his multifaceted erudition, emerges as an inventive creator in both painting and poetic expression. The recognition of his work in distant China and his comparative philosophical study of the fundamental principles shared by Socrates and Confucius guide us toward self-awareness and the innate human sense of joy and beauty in life. Honorary Participation Nadia Bele presents a golden piece of jewelry: a horse’s head, the talisman of the year. Christos Georgoudakis showcases an impressive carved wooden horse, the symbol of the year. All participating creators share common visions and, through a collective spirit, present works of profound artistic imagination. They embody a distinguished intellectual culture, approaching knowledge—an integral part of the world’s cultural heritage—with sensitivity, emotion, respect, and scholarly research.
