Event moderator: Annita Patsouraki, Art Historian.
Regarding the book, the author notes:
“Even the mere reference to artistic creation in the 20th century fascinates us and fills us with curiosity to explore the cultural imprint of an era marked by major philosophical, political, and social transformations… The rapid pace at which events, sciences, the arts, and everyday life evolved led to an explosion of visual creativity, resulting in the succession of artistic movements and modes of expression at a much faster rate than in the previous century. This cultural mark is analyzed in the contents of the book through the perspective of an art creator.”
At the same time, the painting exhibition by Lina Tsilaga titled Galactic Explosions will be inaugurated, featuring works that emerge from continuous research as well as inspiration drawn from the thematic content of her book.
Exhibition curated by: Annita Patsouraki, Art Historian.
Regarding this series of works, architect, visual artist, and author Kostas Livas has written:
“Looking at these paintings of the decomposition of an already decomposed world, I cannot fail to discern the creator’s faith in something like this: since we inevitably decay, since decay is the beginning of the new, then let us die trying to understand our death—sometimes smiling, sometimes satirical, always leaving signs or messages of our journey… travelers into infinity. Paintings of reverie within our inner infinity.”
