AN APPARTMENT'S LAUNDRY AREA IN ATHENS

The request:
The purpose of this project was to remodel a cupboard / laundry area at an apartment in Athens, Greece.
Before:

The laundry area was situated in a cupboard in the hallway of this apartment. This closet had many flaws. The laundry machine and the water heater were in the left side of the cupboard. And on the right side a very small area for shoes. Its doors were not aligned with the inside arrangements. Therefore, when you opened the right door to take your shoes you could see the water boiler and laundry machine. Also, the doors of the cupboard did not close properly due to the laundry machine.

The Design:
​
The idea was to create next to the boiler heater a section for the linen which was lacking in the apartment. I tried to make it more functional to the needs of the client.

For reducing the cost, we decided to use some parts from the already existed cupboard. We even cut the existing doors to the measures we needed.

The final design
The client is satisfied with the new design of the laundry area and linen closet that we created in the apartment's hallway space, located between the 2 bedrooms​
