On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.,
we are delighted to inaugurate the solo painting exhibition of Antigone Pagonas, entitled
“At the Peaks of the Dream.”

Antigone Pagonas, a visual artist working in painting and photography, presents her first solo thematic exhibition of paintings.

The series entitled “At the Peaks of the Dream” offers an intriguing approach to landscape painting, characterized by an atmospheric, dreamlike dimension and inspired by the mountain ranges of Monaco and the snow-covered mountains of Switzerland.

The artist recalls her youthful experiences in her birthplace, her beautiful memories of mountain walks during school excursions, and her love of and skill in winter sports.

With thematic consistency, a devoted commitment to imagery, and extraordinary enthusiasm, she expresses her personal style with a distinctive and recognizable identity.

Vast mountain ranges of imposing height, distinguished by their sharp, pointed, acute, and piercing peaks, almost always covered in snow, leave little room for the suggestion of different, less angular ridgelines.

Antigone Pagonas, a lover of the wild beauty of the mountains, harmoniously combines their rugged appearance with a gentle, serene sky, effortlessly conveying feelings of peace, tranquility, and contemplation.

She makes exceptional use of luminous reflections, skillfully guiding the viewer’s gaze toward the mountain peaks.

A celestial atmosphere, with nebulae and countless stars, creates a mystical universe that evokes associations with the Northern Lights and their fairytale-like hues.

The color palette, dominated by cool tones of deep blue, light blue, turquoise, violet, and pink-magenta, creates a dreamlike landscape, a transcendent universe. Combinations of shades and color contrasts give rise to original and striking forms within a unified composition of dramatic intensity, symbolic significance, and spiritual resonance.

The chromatic harmony is further enhanced by the artist’s skillful use of textural techniques, such as splattering to depict the stars, as well as the use of a palette knife and impasto to create the rich, raised textures of the mountains, rocky terrain, and snow. The forms gain emphasis and definition, bringing the natural beauty of the landscape to the surface.

Originality and thoughtful creativity are evident in the incorporation of metallic elements, in copper or gold, used as outlines or even as frames within the composition itself. The free-flowing forms of nature acquire geometric precision, depth, and a sense of luxury.

The aesthetic value is heightened by the emotional impact of nature’s grandeur, while the works lend themselves to a multifaceted symbolic interpretation of the mountain.

The mountain is identified with a multitude of meanings, both synonymous and contradictory. Elevation and union with divine grace coexist with the insurmountable and the transcendence of limits. In every country, mountains are shrouded in myths and legends and have inspired writers, poets, and thinkers throughout the world.

It is in the mountains that humanity encounters tranquility, absolute spirituality, awe, and the majesty of the universe.

“And I reflect that up there, above the clouds and the silence,
there is a world made of light,
where dreams never end
and mountains touch the stars.”
Giannis Ritsos
